The Finance
Department is located within the Administration & Finance
Commission of the ECOWAS Commission. Its significant
functions are financial management of funds, preparation of
the budget, arranging for annual financial audit services,
monitoring budget compliance, preparing periodic financial
statements, management of investment portfolio and banking
relationships. The Department is comprised of the following
divisions:

Budget & External Funds
– Responsible for the preparation and implementation of
annual budget and financial management of external funds
(donor funds)

Financial Reporting & Treasury
– Responsible for the
collation, analysis, summarization and presentation of
the financial statement. It maintains a reliable
financial management and reporting system for the
financial operations of the Commission. This supports
and disseminates accurate financial information on the
Commission. The unit is also responsible for
custody and disbursement of the Commission’s funds It
also manages the Commission’s investment portfolio and
collection of Community Levy.
The Department is currently headed by an
Acting Director and supported by 6 Professional staff and 8
General Services staff. Its financial management operations
are currently run on the Micros Soft Dynamics Solomon
software. |
